I-CAR Australia CEO Richard Pratt today announced that Valspar had committed to further professional industry development, joining the rapidly expanding Corporate Membership base. Mr Pratt explained “Valspar not only joined as a Corporate Member, but has also gained approval under the Industry Training Alliance program. The I-CAR Industry Training Alliance exists to recognize the accomplishments of students’ training through approved training providers. The Valspar commitment to I-CAR in Australia is an extension of the recent approval of the Valspar Training programs in the USA.” After successful completion of the approved Valspar courses, the refinish students will be awarded recognition points which will apply to both the Gold Class Professionals and Platinum Individual programs. Students attending the I-CAR Live Training courses and the OnLine Training program also receive points towards their individual recognition. “I-CAR provides the industry’s own accreditation program for ongoing training and education, across all roles in the industry. The support of I-CAR by Valspar is a valued commitment and will assist I-CAR in achieving the important goals that underpin the I-CAR position in the collision industry market in Australia” Mr Pratt said. “Valspar’s strength in the Australian automotive refinish market with brands such as De Beer, Valspar Refinish and LIC (Light Industrial Coatings) is further bolstered by our commitment as a corporate member and approval within the I-CAR industry training alliance,” commented Richard Reneman, General Manager of Australia for Valspar Automotive.
